Recycling for Charity - 02/06/2009
Thorpe replaced its company mobile phones earlier this year and twenty two of the old phones were returned for recycling for charity.
Thorpe supports the Menphys charity (www.menphys.org.uk) based in Leicester and contacted them, in the first instance, to see if we could recycle the phones to benefit them. Unfortunately, this was not possible but they put us in touch with the Rainbows Children’s Hospice in Loughborough (www.rainbows.co.uk) who were more than happy to benefit from Thorpe recycling our phones on their behalf.
Rainbows, a purpose-built children's hospice, opened its doors in 1994 and is dedicated to meeting the needs of the children and young people from the East Midlands who come to the Hospice. These children and young people are all affected by life-limiting and life-threatening conditions. Rainbows offer specialist respite stays, symptom management, palliative and end-of-life care for children and young people as well as support for the whole family.
A very worthy cause ……
