Building Schools for the Future - Third Annual Report - 11/05/2010
At the time of writing we still don't know who will govern this country but it is pleasing to note that, no matter what the colour of the coalition turns out to be as a result of the recent General Election, the education section for the next 2-3 years is already committed.
This is confirmed in the "Evaluation of the Building Schools for the Future 3rd Annual Report" prepared for the DCSF by PriceWaterhouseCoopers.
The Building Schools for the Future programme aims to rebuild or substantially refurbish all secondary schools in England by 2020 - a very ambitious target! It also wants to ensure that secondary school pupils learn in 21st century facilities.
Over a 1000 new schools are in the system - 123 are now open with another 880 schools in progress.
Partnerships for Schools (PfS) has been tasked to deliver this programme and they will have their work cut out!
